Clariant’s world-class products and services play a key role in its customers’ manufacturing processes or by adding value to their end products. The Greater China region is one of the fastest growing areas of Clariant. Today Clariant’s operational network in this region includes business and service headquarters in Shanghai, production sites and representative offices in Beijing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Hong Kong, Huizhou, Kunming, Qingdao, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Taipei/Taoyuan, Tianjin, Wuhan, Zhenjiang and Seoul (Korea). These locations support the Group‘s marketing activities and provide technical services to its customers. Currently around 1,300 employees are working for Clariant‘s Greater China operations. In 2010, Clariant relocated its regional business and service headquarters of Greater China to Shanghai Hongqiao Linkong Business Park. With an area of 10,000 square meters in six floors, the new building accommodates both office spaces and laboratory facilities. The establishment of this new headquarters is another important milestone of Clariant’s success in establishing its presence in the Greater China region, where the company identifies as one of the key growth areas with strategic focus. | ||||||

Because we always plan for the future, we have various projects in the pipeline: Clariant Specialty Chemicals (Zhenjiang) Co., Ltd. The surfactants plant in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province, China has been built in 2009 to serve the domestic demand from the personal care, metal working, industrial biocides and textile industries. The 50 000-square-meter site is situated in the International Chemical Industry Park, which has a well-developed logistics infrastructure connecting the park with the local market. The multi-Purpose Production Plant has a capacity of 22 000 tons of products per year. Hangzhou Baihe Clariant Pigments Co., Ltd. Hangzhou Baihe Clariant Pigments Co., Ltd. is located in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, China. The new world-scale plant in Hangzhou specializes in the production of Quinacridone specialty organic pigments. Quinacridone organic pigments increasingly find a wide application in high-performance coatings—including architectural, automotive and industrial applications as well as plastics and printing applications. Lufeng Clariant Chemicals Ltd. Lufeng Clariant Chemicals Ltd. is a pentoxide plant built in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China. The new facility is a joint-venture between Clariant and its partners Kunming GaoHeng Huagong Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., an established Chinese exporter of yellow phosphorus and Panchem International Trading and Industrial Co., a long-term partner of Clariant focusing on logistic services. Clariant will contribute the manufacturing know-how and handle the sales of P205 from the new plant, through its international sales organization. | ||||||
